This is Not About Mee!!đź«

Hello folks….

Welcome to my digital world,

I am Fayiz, a digital marketer from Nilgiris. In my first blog, I am going to talk about my native place, The Nilgiris (Heaven).

It is located in the southern part of India, where Malayalee people speak Tamil, and Tamil people speak Malayalam. Yup, you heard that right! All my Tamil friends can speak Malayalam, and all Malayalee people like me can speak Tamil as well. Even in our schools, we had the option of choosing Malayalam as our second language until the government decided to remove it.

Nilgiris is a vibrant place with farmers and daily wage laborers. In this part of Nilgiris, we grow tea, coffee, pepper, cardamom, cloves, and various vegetables like carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage, etc.

The Nilgiris is located at an altitude of 3,000 to 8,500 feet above sea level. We are covered by The Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, which is home to various species like the Black Panther, Indian elephants, Nilgiri Tahr, tigers, and more. We also share borders with two incredible states of India: Kerala and Karnataka.

The world-famous tourist destination, “Ooty,” is also located in this district, The Nilgiris. In the early 19th century, the British noticed the cool climate of this region and transformed Ooty (Udhagamandalam) into the summer capital of the Madras Presidency. They were also the ones who introduced tea plantations to these mountains and built one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, The Nilgiri Mountain Railway, in 1908.
